Reform Training and Skills has agreed an Offender Learning and Skills contract to deliver an innovative project across resettlement prisons in the South West. Employing our wealth of experience working with offenders both in and out of prison Reform Training and Skills will be delivering CSCS construction courses in custody and liaising with offenders on release to book CSCS tests and organise cards on completion.
In addition highly experienced Reform Training and Skills staff will support offenders to find employment in the field of construction. We know that stable employment is the single biggest factor in reducing reoffending, so by working hard with partners both in and out of custody to provide vocational qualifications and jobs for those that want them, RTAS will be hoping to make an impact here. The project is one of the first of its kind to deliver vocational training in custody and into work support on release, playing a significant part in the rehabilitation of offenders
